Moms Supporting Recovery 3 years, 8 months ago Hello everyone. This is my first post, but I have been living this life for quit some time. I have a son ,19, that has followed in mine and my husbands footsteps of alcoholism and drug addiction. My husband and I are no longer active users. I have been clean from alcoholism for almost 9 years and my husband has been clean from drug addiction for almost 7 years. My son however is still using but i don’t know the extent of his use because he no longer lives with me. But I am most certainly supportive of him in every way possible for the good. He worries my heart every second of every day. But i do have HOPE!!

Thank you for sharing @patricianolan! I’m pretty sure my little sister is following in my footsteps even though she denies it. I fell partially responsible.
You may be right. But you stand firm and set the example. Always be there to listen. Set some good strong boundaries and don’t budge. I will be praying for her.
