Addicts can lose control of their relationships, their jobs, their finances, and their health, and still refuse to let go of the substances that are responsible for these losses. This is often a difficult, confusing process for concerned friends and loved ones. They have a hard time understanding how the addict can seem so blind or stubborn in the face of these consequences. In this lesson we will shed some light on why addicts process reality and negative consequences in ways that seem confused and unrealistic.
