Philippians 2:14-15 (Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.) Okay….hold up, you mean I shouldn’t be grumbling or arguing because I am to be an example to other?!! HARD! It’s easy for us to forget that whether we claim christianity, recovery, or both; we are being watched. People are always waiting to judge us. What if we are having a bad day and react to something someone says or does in a negative way? We may think, no big deal, or even justify it by how we feel emotionally. But what if someone who was thinking about starting a relationship with God or getting real with their recovery, just so happened to see you in that moment. Are they seeing a person with Jesus? A person with solid recovery that’s actually working a program? No. They see someone who gave their serenity over to a situation. Now ask yourself this. Do they want what you have? If the answer is no, don’t give up. Just be willing to work on your character defects. Shine bright my friends. P.S. This one stepped on my toes too!
