”Most of us sense that real tolerance of other people’s shortcomings and viewpoints and a respect for their opinions are attitudes which make us more useful to others. Our very lives, as ex-problem drinkers, depends upon our constant thought of others and how we may help meet their needs.”
– Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 20I have found that open-mindedness is a spiritual principle that I knew little about when I walked in the doors of A.A. Today I know I must think of others first if I am to live a useful and happy life. Thank God for this realization. I must be open to other’s ways of doing things and finally admit that I don’t know everything. I am a student in life and I have much more to learn. Thank you A.A. For showing me the truth about myself and teaching me to be a better person one day at a time.

“Faced with alcoholic destruction, we soon became as open minded on spiritual matters as we had tried to be on other questions. In this respect alcohol was a great persuader. It finally beat us into a state of reasonableness.”
