Honestly, the worst part about anything thatβs self destructive is that itβs so intimate. You become so close w/ your addictions, & illnesses that leaving them behind is like killing the part of yourself that taught you how to survive.. 🧍🏼♀️
I donβt know where to start, how to ask for help, how to feeel comfortable asking for help…. any of it. 😪
Words of advice would be greatly appreciated. 💯

Exactly, it’s like it’s so familiar and even though I know it’s killing me and tearing my whole LIFE, WORLD APART! IM SCARED to go on without it! I’ve relied on it for so long that I’m just scared!
I had to find out the hard way that I cannot do this alone. Itβs looks like you have came to the same realization. I donβt think thereβs a trick to it being comfortable with reaching out. I usually just say a prayer, walk through the fear, and just pick up the phone. We have all been there. Iβve been on both ends of the phone, the one asking for help and the one trying to be helpful to someone in need. Meetings are a great place to meet people and get phone numbers. No one will be surprised when you ask for their number. Itβs what we do! Good luck on your journey.
Thankyou. π it means a lot, really.
Hey each time you reach out it gets easier. I also had to become willing to do whatever it takes and put in as much effort into my recovery as I did when I was using. Prayers for you just do it and I promise it gets easier. Never alone never again❤️❤️❤️
Thankyou! & good job on your journey thru this. Iβm trying my best!
I know it’s hard to ask for help in the beginning, but it gets easier every time you do it. The good thing about asking for help from someone in AA is that by allowing them to help you, they are helping themselves stay sober. So remember that they welcome it. They’re waiting on you to ask and they want to help. They’ve (WE) have all been where you are now. Have you ever been to an AA meeting before? That’s a great place to start!
There are lots of folks eager to help and you found some of us here! So allow us to ask you, what can we do to help? Are you interested in treatment? Would you like getting connected to sources of support or 12 step groups in your area? Would you be interested in attending online meetings? It appears you’ve got some solid feedback from others so far based on their experiences and probably realize by now that you’re not alone and many of us have felt that same way before. Thank you for sharing with us! Let us know what we can do to help.
Yes Iβm interested in treatment just not sure how to go about taking that first step or Nythin
Hey @KennedyGonzales! What city and state do you live in and we can help you get connected to some sources of support and treatment options.
